Naomi turns 1

Hard to believe that Naomi is already one. She is such a funny kid and keeps you laughing. She loves to do anything to get a reaction from you and has an insatiable love of goldfish crackers.

Ikskisi (Little Thumbs)

Spidzbuks travelled to the Catskills with Pacu and Vecemama to attend a Latvian kids camp. The Bars clan also showed up giving the cousins a chance to create havoc together. She absolutely loved the camp and is still singing all of the songs she learned. She can't wait to go again next year.

Jani (Summer Solstice)

Tapping the keg

One thing I have learned about the Latvian culture is that you are never too young to learn how to tap a keg of beer. Even more surprising is how the kids seem to instinctively know how to do it. I caught many attempts over the summer....

Walleyball

Each year a Latvian sports tournament is held and Papu decided he was in decent enough shape to play again. We travelled to Cleveland for the big event in May. We had never seen Papu play volleyball before so it was an new experience for all of us. Best of all we got to visit with all the cousins.

Spidzbuks impression of an 80's pop princess.

No Latvian sports tournament is complete without a dinner and dance. Naomi showed us her version of the Can Can repeatedly all night. This little party animal danced until about midnight without one complaint- once again I think I should be worried with this one!
